Happy Valentine's Day Card

Next to Christmas, my favorite cards to make are Valentine's Day cards. I just purchased the new Tiddly Inks Wryn digital image to make up some happy and sweet cards. Here she is, hope you enjoy!

I colored her up with Copic markers, my favorite medium. I added some sparkle to her dress but the photograph never captures that bling, too bad. Here are the colors I used.
Hair: E49, E59, E57, E99, E97 and Y21.
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000 and R20
Shoes and Dress: Y28, Y26, Y23 and Y21
Hearts: R59, R46, R35 and R32
Digital image: Tiddly Inks: Have Heart

Flowers for a Friend...

It seems I'm never ready to stop making Christmas cards! Even after I've mailed all my cards out for the season, I don't want to stop...they're definitely my favorite cards to make. So tonight I'm forcing myself NOT to make a Christmas card. Here's what I finished up...

Card Ingredients:

Stamping Bella rubber stamp: Uptown Girl, Fiona Loves Flowers
Copic markers: Hair; E49, E59, E99, E97 and Y21. Skin; E04, E11, E21, E00, E000 and R20. Flowers; V09, V06, V04, V01, E17, YR68, YR65, YR61, Y19, Y15. Leaves; YG99, YG95 and YG23. Bird; E55, E53 and E50
Cardstock: Hyacinth, The Paper Company
Printed paper: My Mind's Eye, The Sweetest Thing 6 x 6 inch paper pack
Dies: Spellbinders Pierced Squares, My Favorite Things Pierced Banners
Mulberry Flower: Michael's
Small fern punch: McGill's

Here's the inside sentiment. I cut three more banners from the printed paper and popped the smallest banner up with some 3M 1/4 inch dimensional tape. The sentiment is a combination of 2 stamps. "Friend" is from the Paper Smooches set called Bold Buzzwords and "you're pure sunshine" is from the Amy R., Sunny Sentiments set.
I hope you enjoy...take care friends!!

Eat Cake and Celebrate!

After a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and a fun evening with my family I wandered down to my craft room to make some cards with my new Stamping Bella stamps. Here's one I finished tonight.

This is Uptown Ava Loves to Celebrate. She can be found here: http://stampingbella.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_62&product_id=133.
I love the bright, fun colors of this paper pack. I used Kaiser Crafts Candy Lane Collection. It's a
6 x 6 inch paper pack full of funky greens and pinks. Since I haven't quite mastered the art of pleats with my Copics, I paper pieced her dress and added some shading with my W5, W3 and W1 markers. The card is a 5 1/2 inch square. I used some pearls from my stash along the scalloped edge.

I just stamped the same image in Bubblegum Pink (Close to My Heart) on the inside and finished it off with a C.C. Designs sentiment.

Making a Tri Fold Shutter Card

Tonight I wanted to try something new so I pulled up a tutorial I had saved on Pinterest and started measuring. Here's the link for the card instructions I followed: http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/2010/02/cardmaking-301-trifold-shutter-card.html
Here's my version...enjoy!

I used the rubber stamp "X-Mas Treat" by Penny Black. I colored the image with Copics and mounted paper from the 6 x 6 inch paper pack "Elf Magic Collection" by Bo Bunny onto each panel with a white cardstock backing.
I searched Scrapbook.com but it looks like this collection in a 6 x6 inch paper pack has been discontinued on their site :(
The sentiments are from CAS-ual Friday, Naughty or Nice is the name of the set. Here's the link: http://www.cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/Naughty-or-Nice-CFSS-13-021.htm
The small gift stamp is from Stampin' Up. This set is really old and I can't remember the name of the set it came in...I've had these forever!

Copic colors used: Pup: E59, E57, E55, E53, E51 and R20 for his cheeks. Stocking: G46, G43, G40, Y02, R59, R46 and R43. Ground: W3, W1 and W00.
The edges of the image are distressed with Real Red by Stampin' Up.
Hope you enjoy!

Christmas Card Experimenting

Tonight I played around with my Twinkling H2O watercolors and Tim Holtz Distress inks to create my card. I haven't used my Twinkling H2O's much so I'm still learning how to blend and shade...lots of learning to do! I've also never tried to use my distress inks to watercolor either.  Even though I still have lots to learn, I'm still happy with the result.

The main image is called Frosty's Giggling from Little Darlings. It's a rubber cling stamp, and so adorable! I embossed the image with black embossing powder on watercolor paper and colored him with my Twinkling H2O's in Meridian, Periwinkle and White Pearl. I used Orange Peel for his nose. His eyes nose and buttons are colored with a black Atyou glitter gel pen.
I embossed the snowflakes with a bit of Frantage Embossing Enamel and then dipped them in my distress inks spritzed with water. Like I said, first time I tried this...not too bad. It made some neat patterns and I love how different they all turned out. I have a few more I'll use on another project.

Warm Winter Wishes & Snowflake Kisses

Today's card features Skater Wryn from Tiddly Inks. I used the clear cling stamp but she can also be purchased as a digital stamp. For the first time, I used my Shabby Blue embossing enamel to cover the tree dies. I love that they look snow covered. Here's the pic! Enjoy!!

Supplies I used to make this 6 x 6 inch card:
The Skater Wryn clear stamp set can be purchased here: http://www.tiddlyinks.com/skating-by-clear-stamp-set-3x4/
Copic markers for the main image: Hair: E49, E59, E99, E97 and Y21. Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000 and R20 for her cheeks. Hat and dress: RV99, R59, R46, R24 and R22. Skates: W9, W7, W5 and W3. Gloves: Green Atyou glitter gel pen.
The background is stippled with various B and BG colors. I used about 8 different light tones and then blended them with my colorless blender.
For the trim on her hat and coat I used Stardust Stickles. Pearl accents are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The tree die is from Whimsy Stamps and the fence die is from my stash. I used Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel to cover the trees and the top and bottom of the fence. I also sprinkled a bit around the bottom of the image to give it an icy, snowy look. I got a bit crazy and ended up blowing some onto her dress and hair....whoops! No matter, I thought she still deserved to go on a card!
Patterned paper from Bo Bunny; Elf Magic Collection, 6 x 6 paper pack.
